THE BENEFITS OF PROBIOTICS

If you're like most people, you've probably heard lots of things about probiotics and its impact on gut health. But can you remember any of them?

My guess is you may remember a couple, if you are a health fanatic you may even know them all.

For my beloved readers that may not be too familiar, I want to share a 4 benefits of probiotics and the impact it can make on your life.

To start, Probiotics are the microorganisms that benefit your health. These micro organisms can be found in your gastrointestinal and genitourinary tracts, skin, mouth, and nasal passages.

Probiotics help with:

  • Gastrointestinal Health

  • Immune System Health

  • Oral Health

  • Digestion and Absorption of Food and Nutrients

  • Psychological Well-Being (via the gut-brain connection)

  • Protect Against Hostile Bacteria to Prevent Infection

Since out family has started taking probiotics on a daily basis, we have noticed a drastic decrease in the frequency of getting sick. This has been very noticeable since Oliver is in daycare and kids always seem to be sick in his class.

We don't give probiotics directly to Hudson as he is still too young but we have noticed a big difference in his digestive health since Anna has been taking it. He use to poop once every week and a half (which is okay for breast fed babies) and is now pooping every 3 days.

The two main ways to increase your probiotic intake are from:

Probiotic-Rich Foods:

  • Fermented cabbage

  • Kombucha

  • Pickles (non pasteurized)

  • Live-cultured yogurt

  • Tempeh

  • Dairy-free yogurt

  • Kimchi

  • Miso

Bacteria rich supplements that we've tried and trust:

  • Bio-K

  • All Kids (for children)

Please let us know what probiotics you are taking and are working well for you. Health and wellness is always evolving and we want to make sure we are always using the best possible products.

Love Anna,

xoxo
